Comment

Q.   Do I have to send copies of correspondence or other proof of the unfair enforcement action taken by the federal agency with the official comment form?

A.   Yes. Congressional legislation mandates that all comments received by the Office of the National Ombudsman must be substantiated.

Q.   I sent a completed comment form and substantiating documentation to the Office of the National Ombudsman. How long should it take to receive a response from the federal agency?

A.   The Office of the National Ombudsman requests all federal agencies to respond to comments within thirty (30) days, however, more complex comments may take as long as 90 days.

Q.   I have filed an official comment along with substantiating documentation with the Office of the National Ombudsman. Should I continue to pursue other remedies I consider to be in the best interest of my small business?

A.   Yes. In all cases you should pursue all remedies you consider to be in the best interest of your small business. Submission of a comment to the Office of the National Ombudsman is NOT a substitute for legal or other action you may take.
